Someone saw Spike board
On the Lantern Car, there is one passenger. She is old, and she has been riding the Railway for longer than anyone can remember. Her name is Vera. She does not speak much. But when Heathcliff shows her Spike's photograph, she nods slowly. 'He boarded at Node 7,' she says. 'He was carrying something large. He said it was for the Lantern Room. He said it was important.' She pauses. 'He seemed happy.'
