The Map That Moves
The Railway does not stay still
Sugar spreads the Railway map across the floor of the signal room. It is not like other maps. The lines shift as you watch them — routes appearing and disappearing as trains move through the grid. Sugar traces a path with one careful paw. 'He was here,' she says. 'Node 7. Three cycles ago.' The line between Node 7 and Celestial Station flickers. Then it goes still.
