Spike is in the Lantern Room. He is sitting at a small desk, writing in a logbook. He looks up when they enter. He does not look surprised. He looks like someone who has been expecting company and is glad it finally arrived. 'You found the way,' he says. He closes the logbook. 'I knew you would. I left enough signals.' Sugar does not say anything. She just sits next to him. Heathcliff gives one WOOF. The signal board — all sixty-three switches — turns green.
